Wow, it's been a month since I've updated my site. I just realized that. I am very sorry. Things have been just so busy around here with the New Year, all of the holidays and just getting things back to normal in their aftermath.
(Every time I feel like I'm keeping up with my website, I end up taking a month off.)

Fridays @ The Lounge have been going great and I owe it to all of you for making that happen! New Years was one insane night. I've never seen the club so trashed after a night. It just goes to show how much people had this year.

I'm finally finding a groove as the new resident at The Lounge an I've got some great guests coming up on the line up.

This week, Spur (Onethirty, SOG, Somatic Sense, Discotek Recordings) returns to The Lounge along with special guest Mr. Fun. If you haven't seen either of these guys, now is your chance. If you have seen them, you know how great this night is going to be.



Also on the bill for up coming weeks, Charlie Echo on 1/19/07 and Mustang Sally on 2/2/07.

I won't be at The Lounge on 1/26/07 since my little sister is getting married. I can't miss that! But you'll all be in very good hands!

I want to send a Big thank you to EVERYONE that's made my nights at The Lounge the success that they are! I couldn't have asked for the support so many of you have given! Without YOU Fridays at The Lounge would be just another club night.

Having said that, you won't want to miss this Friday. I'm going solo for the first time in the main room and I'm laying down a special 3 1/2 hour set just to say thank you! I'll be playing everything in my arsenal. Brand new tracks you haven't heard yet and all those old favorites you love to get down to. Don't miss this year's New Years Eve Spectacular @ The Lounge!!! This is going to be a New Years to remember and The lounge is the place to be.

This is a very busy week for me. Three radio shows, a Latin Rock Festival, my wife's birthday at Visage, the Discotek Launch Party @ The Lounge and the first Discotek release on www.Junodownload.com.

Just a quick recap, Barfly on Wednesday was fun. Thanks to those of you that made it out midweek. Saturday night was a blast! I love The Lounge and you all make it so much fun. I'm going to be there a lot more from now on.

Starting this Friday I'll be one of two Friday night residents in the main room at The Lounge. You can catch me every other Friday. The nights I'm not there, be sure to make it for Kill The DJ. Check the events page to see what nights I'll be there.

Alright now, on to the line up of events for this week. It all starts Tuesday, October 17th, with Axis Radio on Afterhoursdjs.org. The show gooes from 6:30pm - 8pm Central. We'll have the Nascent Numen crew on as well as Discotek Recordings artist Swoope and myself. Next night, same sation, from 7pm - 8pm, The House of Styles broadcasts live from the Discotek Studios in Minneapolis. And Finally, Friday, October 20th on Afterhoursdjs.org, Live From The Discotek airs our Pre-Party show from 6pm - 8pm central.

Our huge Discotek Recordings Launch Party will be at The Lounge Friday October 20th. We will have a guest list for this very special event, but space is limited. Please e-mail (info@jakeencinas.com) me your list ASAP to avoid paying a cover charge. Check out the line up on the the events page.

Before the launch party, I'll be at The Red Sea for the Resistencia Festival. This year RESISTENCIA FESTIVAL has expanded its musical offerings to include a diaspora of local groups and projects that celebrate the diversity of Minnesota's music scene.

Rock, ska, acid metal, hip hop, electronica, and everything in between. RESISTENCIA is your home for music that you won't hear anywhere else in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and the Midwest.



Closing out the week on Saturday night, I'll be DJing at Visage for my wife, Lisa's birthday. Come down and celebrate with us. Send me your list so you don't have to pay a cover charge.

Finally, Friday, October 20th, Discotek Recordings first release will be available on www.Junodownload.com. Support our label and download our music! Look for more releases soon from Discotek Recordings.

How busy is too busy? Am I too busy to update my website? No. Do I neglect it because Myspace is 100 times easier to update? Yes. Does that need to change? For sure!

I'm really going to give myself a nice kick in the pants here and make Fridays my weekly update day on JakeEncinas.com. It might be a new track, mix, last week's MetroMusica download or breaking news.

Well, for those of you that aren't on Myspace, I'm sorry. I missed quite a few gigs on here that were posted on Myspace.com/jakeencinasmusic. I'm going to now make it a rule that I'll post the first news of new events here on JakeEncinas.com where it belongs.

With that said, the next event I have on my calendar is 9/29/06 @ Nami. I'll be filling in for Mustang Sally as she takes a much needed vacation. The night starts at 10pm and goes until 1am. Stop in, have some sushi, hang out at the bar and make a visit to the dance floor.

Next, I want to mention that < a href="http://www.jakeencinas.com/metromsuica.html" />MetroMusica is moving to www.AfterhoursDJs.org. This is great for several reasons. The show will be on every Friday now. We'll also have two hours to rock your computer speakers. The new time is 6pm - 8pm CST.

My next guest on MetroMusica will be Charlie Echo. I've had him on the show a few times before. If you like Funky House (and you know you do) then tune in to MetroMusica on www.AfterHoursDJs.org, Friday, 9/29/06 from 6pm - 8pm CST.

Well, the politics of dancing prove to be alive and well in Minneapolis once again. A very long story short, I'm no longer a resident as Visage, and I'm happy to be free to explore other avenues.

There are quite a few things in the works for me on the Production side of things right now. I'm happy to say that I'm working on several remixes right now that will be coming out over the Summer. I'll have previews up here and on Myspace soon.

My monthly residency is now a weekly event. 34 and I will be rocking the mixer EVERY SATRUDAY from 11pm - 3am.

I know that I haven't updated the site in quite a long time. There have been things going on that I haven't posted, so for that I'm very sorry. I'll briefly re-cap some of the highlights.

First, and most notably, "You're Everywhere" has been signed to Demulcent Records and should be released sometime in December or January as a digital release. I'll keep you posted as more news comes out.

Also, I had a great night playing at Martini Blu with Jason Heinrichs on November 5th. We had a great time and I'm looking forward to doing it again. And last night, totally by surprise, I ended up playing Spectrum @ Euphoria in place of E-Tones. Special thanks to Big Mama J for having me out there.

I've confirmed me New Years Eve with Ananda and V2 Nightlife @ The Millennium Hotel. This year is going to be bigger and better than last year. And for those of you that were there last year, you know how much fun that was. More to come on that.

I've done a few remixes since I last posted and there are more in the works as you're reading this. One I'm very proud of one called "The Rhythm". This is a white label remix of Miami Sound Machine's "The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You". It was very well recieved by last night's crow at Euphoria. Download "The Rhythm" on the audio page. More tracks to come...
